چکیده

Objectives: Few studies have evaluated the marginal fit of computer-aided design—computer-aided manufacturing (CAD-CAM) monolithic zirconia crowns fabricated through completely digital workflow; however, internal these restorations is not well known. The purpose this in vitro study was to evaluate and by using workflow, including intraoral scanner (IOS) scans, compare results those a semi-digital which combined conventional impressions, poured casts, extraoral (EOS) scanning. Materials methods: A typodont right mandibular first molar prepared for complete-coverage ceramic crown scanned an IOS. impressions preparation were also made, stone casts EOS. Virtual models generated both workflows, identical virtual anatomic contour designed CAD software. Monolithic IOS (ZI; n = 10) EOS (ZE; groups. silicon replica technique used crowns. Measurements made at 13 points on buccolingual mesiodistal cross-sections per specimen with ×6.5 ×50 zoom stereo microscope. from groups statistically compared Independent Samples t-tests Mann–Whitney U test (α 0.05). Results: Mean gap values all measurement locations ZE significantly higher than ZI (p ≤ 0.002). Overall mean ranged between 29 43 µm (median: 28–42 µm) 42 75 43–77 ZE. Conclusion: Completely workflow scans provided better CAD-CAM where obtained Yet, workflows acceptable (<120 µm). Clinical Relevance: may be advantageous fabrication as favorable can less material waste potentially shortened overall treatment time impression files transferred production facility electronically. need corroborated clinical studies.

Effect of cement space on the marginal fit of CAD-CAM-fabricated monolithic zirconia crowns.

STATEMENT OF PROBLEM Monolithic zirconia crowns fabricated with computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD-CAM) have recently become a common practice for the restoration of posterior teeth. The marginal fit of monolithic zirconia crowns may be affected by different cement space parameters set in the CAD software. Information is scarce regarding the effect of cement space on th...

Marginal and internal fit of all-ceramic crowns fabricated with two different CAD/CAM systems.

This study evaluated the accuracy of marginal and internal fit between the all-ceramic crowns manufactured by a conventional double-layer computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) system and a single-layer system. Ten standardized crowns were fabricated from each of these two systems: conventional double-layer CAD/CAM system (Procera) and a single-layer system (Cerec 3D). The...

Evaluation of marginal fit and internal adaptation of zirconia copings fabricated by two CAD - CAM systems: An in vitro study

STATEMENT OF PROBLEM Three main factors which determine the success of an All-ceramic restoration are esthetic value, resistance to fracture and third being the marginal fit. Marginal fit and internal adaptation are crucial factors in increasing the longevity of the restoration. Newer and economical CAD CAM systems have been introduced claiming better marginal fit and adaptation of All ceramic ...

Effect of sintering on the marginal and internal fit of CAD/CAM-fabricated zirconia frameworks.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of post-machining sintering on marginal and internal fit of CAD/CAM-fabricated zirconia frameworks. Single crown copings (A: abutment), three-unit bridge frameworks (APA, P: pontic), four-unit bridge frameworks (APPA), and five-unit bridge frameworks (A1P1A2P2A3) were fabricated with raw-stage zirconia blanks using a commercial CAD/CAM system ...

The Effect of Different Finishing Lines on the Marginal Fitness of Full Contour Zirconia and Glass Ceramic CAD/CAM Crowns (An in-vitro study)

Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of two gingival finishing lines (90° shoulder and deep chamfer) on the marginal fitness of two types of full anatomic all-ceramic crowns; zirconia crowns (Zikonzhan) and glass ceramic crowns (IPS e-max CAD) milled with CAD/CAM system. Materials and Methods: Two dentoform teeth of left maxillary first molar were prepared with chamfer fini...
